ABOUT ANDREW BREWER
Diverse Coaching Background
What started out as a group project at the University of New Brunswick has led to an incredible journey across the world at the highest levels of hockey.
While attending the University of New Brunswick Andrew created a marketing video commemorating the 2007 UNB Varsity Reds National CIS Championship. That video led Andrew to an opportunity as the video coach with the UNB Reds men's hockey team. Quickly working his way up from video coach to Assistant Coach Andrew assisted the UNB Reds in winning two National Championships in 2009 & 2011 as well as setting a CIS record for most wins in a season (27-1.) Andrew also served on the steering committee for the 2011 National Championship hosted at UNB.
In 2011 Andrew joined Hockey Canada as the Manager of National Teams Video. Here he would serve as the Video Coach for Team Canada representing his country 9 times on the International stage. With Hockey Canada Andrew was responsible to ensure Team Canada was the most prepared team at International events. In his tenure with Hockey Canada Andrew served as the Video Coach for 3 World Juniors, 4 IIHF Championships, the 2014 Olympics & 2016 World Cup of Hockey. Andrew managed the POE Coaching seminar for high performance coaches for 3 years from 2012-2015. Here he gained the title of "coaching concierge" where he was known to be able to meet the needs & exceed expectations of all the coaching staffs he worked with.
After working with Mike Babcock at the 2014 Olympics Andrew joined the Detroit Red Wings as an Assistant Coach for the 2014-2015 season. With Detroit Andrew was responsible for team & individual face-offs, Shootouts as well as managing all team game preparation.
In June of 2015 Andrew joined Coach Babcock with the Toronto Maple Leafs in the role of Assistant Coach. Again Andrew would manage Face-Offs & shootouts while taking a greater role in game preparation. While in Toronto the Maple Leafs improved to the 2nd best Face-Off team in the NHL. Andrew served as a member of the Maple Leafs coaching staff for 5 seasons helping the team reach the post season in the final 4 years.
In November of 2020 Andrew joined Coach Quenneville as the video coach for the Florida Panthers. In his time with Florida Andrew helped Coach Q & Coach Brunette lead the Panthers to a President's Trophy and the first playoff win in 25 years for the franchise.
Andrew spent the 2022-2023 season on the bench of the Utica Comets (AHL Affiliate of New Jersey Devils) where he ran the team's Power Play and developed the young forwards.
Currently Andrew runs 200 Foot Hockey consulting for multiple teams, coaches & organizations & works with FastModel Sports as a Director of Business Development.
Andrew resides in Tampa, Florida with his wife Patricia and they are raising their own Hat Trick of young hockey players (Nicholas, Tyler, Alexander)
